Project Description

The Veterans' Bachelor of Science in Nursing (VBSN) is an initiative to help veterans pursuing nursing degrees build on their previous health related education and experience to become licensed professional nurses.

Work Description

The GSRA will assist grant staff in completing literature reviews and assessing current best practices for nursing and veteran education.  GSRA will work closely with the Project Investigator and VBSN staff to identify research that assesses how institutions of higher education award transfer credit to military veterans for education received while in the military.  Further the student will assist with research/documentation using Joint Services Transcripts, evaluating military courses, and preparing reports and documents for transfer equivalency committee review.  The GSRA will also assist the Project Director, Administrative Assistant, and Academic Advisor identifying supplemental grant and foundation funding sources and completing Letters of Intent (LOI), writing applications, abstracts, and completing all documentation required for potential funding.  Also, GSRA will complete other assignments as needed.

Requirements Description

Basic understanding of the research process, and the ability to work independently with assigned tasks.

Work Schedule

Flexible, can work around student's course work.
